Disable Instagram’s Online Status on Instagram App (Android & iOS)

We mostly use Instagram and DMs on our smartphone so it’s better to hide the online status if you’re too curious about your activity status. Just keep that in mind. You can find this setting in the same place on both Android or iPhone.

Step 1. Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.

Step 2. Tap your profile picture icon on the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 3. Tap the three settings menu lines and select Messages and story replies.

Step 4. Select Show activity status.

Step 5. Now, simply turn off Show Activity Status.

After this, nobody will be able to see when was the last time you were active now. In that way, you can ignore people as you want. Nobody’s going to know that you were active and just swiped the notification up.

Hide Instagram Online Status on PC/Desktop

Well, people mostly use Instagram on their smartphones to post photos and videos and also chat with their family and friends because there is no post and direct message option on the web version of Instagram. However, if you want to hide Instagram’s online status on your PC and Desktop, you can do it. Here’s how to do it:

Go to Instagram.com on your computer/PC then log in if needed.

Select the hamburger menu and hit Settings.

Select Messages and story replies > Show activity status.

Now, simply turn off Show Activity Status.

Who Can See When You’re Active or Online on Instagram?

Your followers won’t be able to see when you were most recently on Instagram. Only people you follow or have previously had direct conversations (DMs) will see how many minutes or hours ago you were online.
