Method 1. Install Wireless Display in Windows 11/10 via Settings
To screen mirror and project, you need to install the Wireless Display feature on the Windows 11 PC and make sure both the device and your PC support Miracast.
Here are the steps to add or install Wireless Display in Windows 10/11:
Step 1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings directly.
Step 2. Click System from the left-hand side pane and select Optional features.
Step 3. Select View features next to Add an optional feature.
Step 4. Now, scroll down all the way and check the box next to Wireless Display and click Next.
Step 5. Click Install.
Step 6. Installing Wireless Display.
Step 7. Wireless Display is successfully installed on your Windows 11 PC.
Method 2. Add Via Command Prompt
Make sure your computer is connected to the internet before you begin.
- Open Command Prompt (CMD) as administrator.
- Type the following command and then press enter:
DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0
The progress of this feature can be tracked in the Settings app while it is being installed. You will receive the notification ‘The operation completed successfully‘ after the installation is complete.
Fix Wireless Display Feature Install Failed Due to Error
Most of the time, this problem occurs when you’re using have a metered connection. Here are the steps to fix this issue.
- Settings > Network & internet.
- Under the Network & internet page, click on properties.
- Set the button to Off next to Metered connection.
After disabling the metered connection, try to install the Wireless Display optional feature again by following the above-mentioned steps.
