How to Install Wireless Display in Windows 11

Do you want to screen mirror or project your Android phone to your computer or connect your laptop to TV wirelessly? If this is the case for you then you’ll need to install Wireless Display on your computer. So, in this guide, you’re going to learn 2 different ways to install Wireless Display in Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Meanwhile, You need to add and install the wireless display optional feature in Windows before projecting your Windows 11/10 PC to another device or vice versa. Without it, the PC will be unable to utilize the wireless display feature and will not be recognized as a device capable of wireless display.

Furthermore, the Windows 10 Wireless Display feature extends your visual workspace while increasing the adaptability of your PC. It enables you to turn your PC into a second display for tasks that require extra screen space.

Method 1. Install Wireless Display in Windows 11/10 via Settings

To screen mirror and project, you need to install the Wireless Display feature on the Windows 11 PC and make sure both the device and your PC support Miracast.

Here are the steps to add or install Wireless Display in Windows 10/11:

Step 1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings directly.

Step 2. Click System from the left-hand side pane and select Optional features.

Step 3. Select View features next to Add an optional feature.

Step 4. Now, scroll down all the way and check the box next to Wireless Display and click Next.

Method 2. Add Via Command Prompt

Make sure your computer is connected to the internet before you begin.

• Open Command Prompt (CMD) as administrator.
• Type the following command and then press enter:

DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0

The progress of this feature can be tracked in the Settings app while it is being installed. You will receive the notification ‘The operation completed successfully‘ after the installation is complete.

Fix Wireless Display Feature Install Failed Due to Error

Most of the time, this problem occurs when you’re using have a metered connection. Here are the steps to fix this issue.

• Settings > Network & internet.
• Under the Network & internet page, click on properties.
• Set the button to Off next to Metered connection.

After disabling the metered connection, try to install the Wireless Display optional feature again by following the above-mentioned steps.
