What is Restrict Feature on Instagram?
The mode can be enabled for specific accounts by swiping left on a comment, heading to your privacy settings, or doing so on the person’s account. Restrict makes it so that comments on your posts from a person you have restricted will only be visible to that person.

However, by restricting an account or a person on Instagram not only you can restrict comments but that affects direct message as well, it means you won’t receive notifications.
Any attempt to send a direct message will move to a message request, according to Instagram, and notifications won’t be sent. The message can still be read, but restricted accounts won’t be able to see when it’s read or when the person who has restricted them is active on Instagram.
Restrict is also designed to create “friction” when it comes to tags and mentions, “to make it harder for a bully to find you and to harass you,” Fogu says. Normally, Instagram will automatically suggest handles when someone is trying to tag or mention another user. If a bully is trying to tag a user who has restricted them, however, they’ll have to know the user’s handle and type it out completely.
How to use Instagram’s Restrict feature?
There are a few ways you can use Restrict to block an unwanted comment.
1. You can go directly to the account of the user that you wish to put on Restrict. Click the three dots menu selection and the Restrict option will show up right after Block on the list.

Or you can tap and hold on comments mainly bully’s comments and then tap on the “!” icon then tap on Restrict.
