There’s no doubt that Instagram is one of the most-loved photo-sharing apps today and that’s why we spend most of our time using this app. Although some studies recommend limiting mobile phone use to two hours per day, it is believed that the average person uses their phone for about five hours per day, with social media accounting for about half of that time. In order to manage time and Focus, Instagram introduced quiet mode.
What Is Quiet Mode on Instagram?
Instagram’s Quiet Mode will automatically pause notifications, particularly late at night. You can set aside a period of the day when you don’t want Instagram notifications and messages to divert you. For the amount of time you specify, your status and auto-reply to messages will be set to “in Quiet Mode”.
Why Would Someone Use IG’s Quiet Mode?
Given that Instagram users are spending more time on the app on average and that it is becoming a distraction that detracts from performance, Quiet Mode attempts to improve focus, promote rest, and restrict Instagram use. In other words, Instagram’s major goal is to develop into a less harmful and intrusive social network and to provide amusement within reasonable time constraints.
When Quiet Mode is enabled, your status changes from active to inactive in order to accomplish this. Your alerts will be muted, and anybody who sends you a private message will automatically get a response letting them know how you are doing. Pending alerts will be received once this option is disabled.
This capability generally functions quite similarly to the ones that are currently present on mobile devices, such as Rest, Work, or Do Not Disturb on iOS and Android. In this instance, though, just Instagram will be inactive. Additionally, other users will be aware that you have paused your alerts and that they won’t receive a prompt answer.
How to Turn On Quiet Mode on Instagram
- Open the Instagram app.
- Tap on your profile icon at the bottom right-hand side.
- Select the hamburger menu and then tap Settings and privacy.
- Tap on Time spent > Notification Settings.
- Select Quiet mode.
- Tap the toggle next to Quiet Mode to enable it. You can now choose the duration to put Instagram on Quiet Mode.
To better manage your social media activity, embrace Instagram’s Quiet Mode. Better features for Instagram users to enjoy the app are continually released. However, there is always a chance of running across new problems and bugs with each new edition. The good news is that Instagram gives users a natural way to report these persistent issues.
