How to Disable Google Assistant on Android Devices
It’s absolutely easy to completely disable Google Assistant on Android devices. Here, you will learn how to Turn off Google Assistant and also how to deactivate the support button for Google Assistant.
Turn Off Google Assistant on Android
If you’re tired of Google Assistant and it really bothers you then it’s better to completely disable it and for that follow the following steps.
Step 1. Open the Google App from your home page.
Step 2. Tap More at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.
Step 3. Tap Settings.
Step 4. Tap Google Assistant and then select the Assistant tab.
Step 5. Under Assistant devices select Phone.
Step 6. Tap the slider button to the left to Turn off the Google Assistant.
Disable the Google Assistant Support Button
Those people who still want to use Google Assistant but want to deactivate the support button. deactivating the support button will be enough. This way, you’ll no longer be able to access Google Assistant via the home button, which will prevent you from accidentally activating it.
Note: the below screenshots are on a Samsung Galaxy phone and the steps may vary on the other Android devices.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app.
Step 2. Tap Apps.
Step 3. Tap the three dots icon at the top right-hand of the screen and then select Default apps.
Step 4. Tap Assist app.
Step 5. Tap Device assistance app.
Step 6. Now, here you can either select None or any other option other than Google Assistant.
