A screen saver is an animated image that is activated on a personal computer display when no user activity has been sensed for a certain time. However, on a phone, you will see a screen saver when the phone is turned on and charging.

How to Enable Screen Saver on Samsung Galaxy
Note: The below screenshots are taken on Galaxy S9+ running on Android 10 (One UI 2.1) and the steps may vary on Android 9.0 Pie or Android 8.0 Oreo.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app.
Step 2. Select Display.
Step 3. Scroll down all the way and then tap the Screen saver option.
Step 4. Choose the Screensaver you want to display:
Remember: Photos will be available only when you are signed in with the Google account.

Step 5. Tap the Preview option to display a preview of your screensaver.
Step 6. Tap the settings or gear icon to customize the selected screensaver.
How to Disable Screen Saver on Samsung Galaxy
You might not like using screen savers, however, and may find yourself looking for a way to change them. Each of these settings can be adjusted. Here’s how to disable the screen saver on a Samsung Galaxy phone:
Step 1. Open the Settings app.
Step 2. Tap Display.
Step 3. Scroll down all the way and then select the Screen saver option.
Step 4. Tap None and you are good to go.
