The appearance and general style of the Windows shell experience is one of the first things that an experienced Windows user will notice. Despite its simple style, everything is concentrated and calls the user. Learn here to create live tiles in Windows 11.
The fundamental design of Windows 11 is being used by designers and app makers to explore more customization options, and one of the most recent applications to come out is the ‘Live Tiles Anywhere‘ app. Let’s take a look at what it has to offer and how you can use ‘Live Tiles Anywhere’ on Windows 11 to build live tiles (like those on Windows 10) and widgets.
What is the Purpose of the Live Tiles Anywhere App?
‘Live Tiles,’ as most of us know them, were a feature of Windows 10’s Start Menu that never really took off. It’s easy to see why Microsoft didn’t include it in Windows 11. However, the concept underlying Live Tiles was not completely absurd.
Live Tiles were square-shaped tiles with an image or a number that displayed app notification previews. They also cycled and included links to start shows on occasion. However, their application (no pun intended) was never quite perfect, and they mostly stuck to the Start Menu.
However, one developer has produced a modified version of it called Live Tiles Anywhere, which can be used in the Start Menu or as desktop widgets, as the name indicates. Let’s have a look at how ‘Live Tiles Anywhere’ works and how you can make them on Windows 11.
How to Create Live Tiles in Windows 11 via Live Tiles Anywhere
Step 1. Go to Microsoft Store and then search for Live Tiles Anywhere, click Get to install it.
Step 2. Once installed, click Open.
Step 3. Make the CUSTOM TILES tab is selected and then click Create a new custom tile.
Step 4. From the left panel, select Element to execute.
Step 5. In the This app/command/file will be executed drop-down menu choose the Installed app. After that, click Pick an app.
Step 6. Select your desired app and click Save.
Step 7. Finally, click on the Save option on the toolbar and then select Save and continue.
Step 8. Now, close the editor.
Step 9. After that, under the CUSTOM TILES tab, right-click the tile you have created and select Pin to the Start menu. At last, Select Yes.
The app is currently not suited to display live tiles in the Windows 11 Start Menu. It will only display the app’s icon. The developer is expected to incorporate “live tile” capability in the upcoming release.
Use Live Tiles as Widgets on Windows 11
A custom live tile may be used as a widget and put anywhere on the desktop once it has been built. To do so, right-click on the live tile and choose to Create a widget from the drop-down menu.
It is also possible to build a widget on the desktop without first generating a custom live tile. To do so, navigate to the ‘All Apps’ page in the ‘Live Tiles Anywhere’ app. Here, look for an app, right-click it, and choose to Create a widget from the menu.
These were the steps to create or use live tiles in Windows 11 by installing Live Tiles Anywhere.
