As you all know that Safari is one of the best browsers around. However, if you’re an avid reader and want to find the main points of a webpage then Apple Intelligence has got. With iOS 18.1, you can now quickly summarize a webpage on iPhone Safari web browser but in reader mode.
Meanwhile, Apple has released a new developer beta update, bringing Apple Intelligence features to iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. From Monday, users with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 developer beta can use new features like Siri’s contextual awareness, automatic movie creation in the Photos app, writing tools, and more. The Safari browser also got a new AI-powered Summarize feature that gives short summaries of web pages and articles.
Safari Browser Gets AI Summarize Feature
Apple’s release notes talked about their new Intelligence features. One of these, the AI-powered Summarise feature, was released in an early preview and first noticed by 9to5Mac. According to them, you can use this feature in Safari’s Reader mode.
When you’re in Reader mode, you might see a Summarize button at the top of the page with the Apple Intelligence logo next to it. If you tap this button, an animation scans the page’s contents, showing a purple glow from Apple Intelligence.
How to Summarize Webpage on Safari on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max
1. Open any website that you wish to make its summary.
2. Tap the rectangular icon on the left side of the address bar.
3. Select Show Reader.
4. Here, you’ll see the Summarize button. Tap on it.
5. After a few seconds, you can view the whole page summary.
By adding summaries to Safari’s Reader mode, Apple is making it less likely that many people will use them.
These summaries don’t appear automatically and aren’t available in the regular website view. You need to switch to Reader mode to see the summary option. Even then, you have to ask for a summary each time.
