Screenshots from your iPhone are perfect for posting moments from your favorite videos, high scores from your games, social networking interactions like Twitter or Facebook, bugs you want to fix, and just about anything and everything you see on your phone. But the problem is that the newer iPhones such as iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max don’t have Home Button like iPhone 8, 7 or 6. In older iPhones, you could easily take a screenshot by pressing the Power Button and Home Button but the story is different altogether in iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max. So, in this feature, I will show you how to take a screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS and XS Max in two different ways.

Two Ways to Take Screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS & XS Max
Well, there’s nothing new to take a screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS & XS Max but a minor change. X, XR, XS and XS Maz uses the combination of a new and different button to take screenshots. It’s as easy as what you used to use to snap screenshots on older iOS devices, but because it’s completely new it may take a bit of getting used to before the new screenshot process becomes a routine for owners of the iPhone X series. Here I will show you two different methods to take a screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max.
Method #1. Take Screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS & XS Max using Hard Keys
NOTE 1: Do not hold the side button and volume up button for too long, otherwise you’ll activate the “Slide to Power Off” screen.
NOTE 2: This method also works for iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
Step 1. Open the app or screen you want to capture and set up everything exactly the way you want it for the shot.
Step 2. Press the side button and the volume up button at the same time then you have to quickly release both the side key and volume up button.
Step 3. The screen will flash rapidly when a screenshot has been taken successfully and a sound effect like the camera shutter will sound to suggest the screenshot has been a success.
Step 4. After taking a screenshot a thumbnail appears temporarily in your screen’s lower-left corner. To open it, tap the thumbnail, or swipe left to discard it.
Screenshots were taken on iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max will appear in the Photos app, where they can be found in the Screenshots photos album, or in the iPhone’s regular camera roll.
Method #2: Take Screenshot on iPhone X, XR, XS and XS Max using Assistive Touch
There’s also another way for taking screenshots on the iPhone X series. If you don’t like to use the hard keys for taking screenshots then you can opt-out using Assistive Touch. Because with Assistive Touch, you can easily take a screenshot with only one hand but you have to enable the Assistive Touch first.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app.
Step 2. Tap on Accessibility or if you can’t find Accessibility, tap General then select Accessibility.
Step 3. Select Touch.
Step 4. Select the Assistive Touch.
Step 5. Turn the AssistiveTouch on then in the CUSTOM ACTIONS menu select any of the options to apply screenshot on. if you select Single-Tap, it means that with a Single-Tap you take a screenshot using Assistive Touch. If you select Double-Tap then you need to Double-Tap to take a screenshot and the last one is Long Press.
Step 6. From the list, select Screenshot.
You can take a one-handed screenshot at any time with the screenshot option added to your Assistive Touch menu by pressing the Assistive Touch button followed by the screenshot button. Screenshots were taken on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max will appear in the Photos app, where they can be found in the Screenshots photos album, or in the iPhone’s regular camera roll.
