Do you want to show your Wi-Fi GHz band on your Galaxy phone? If that’s the case with you, then you’re at the right place. This post will show you how to check Wi-Fi GHz band on Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 6.0 based on Android 14.
Before moving forward, we must have some information about Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and Wi-Fi 5 GHz.
2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi Explained
You know how Wi-Fi has those different bands, like 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz? Well, the 2.4 GHz one is cool because it can go through walls and stuff better than the 5 GHz. That’s why it covers more ground in your house.
But here’s the kicker: lots of gadgets, from microwaves to baby monitors, also hang out on that same 2.4 GHz band. They can be a bit noisy and mess with your Wi-Fi speed. It’s like they’re all trying to talk at the same time, and it gets chaotic.
Oh, and it’s not just those devices. Imagine if your Wi-Fi channel was like a radio station. You pick one, but if your neighbour picks the same one nearby, it’s like tuning into two stations on the same frequency. They start interfering with each other, causing your Wi-Fi to get all wonky. It’s super common in places like flats where everyone’s signals overlap.
Well, the 5 GHz one is like the sprinter of Wi-Fi bands. It’s super speedy because it uses fancy tech called Wi-Fi 5. But here’s the catch: it’s not great at going through walls and stuff. So, it’s like it loses its breath quicker and can’t cover as much ground in your house.
But hey, the good news is, it’s like having a private conversation in a quiet room compared to the crowded 2.4 GHz party. There are more channels to use, which means less interference. Plus, not as many gadgets hog the 5 GHz space, so it’s less likely to get messed up by random devices like garage door openers or cordless phones.
