After creating a Facebook account, we love to search for different things from an athlete or celebrity page to some personal things. However, Facebook’s search feature monitors what you’ve recently searched for, which is useful for helping you get back to regularly visited sites. But it’s absolutely private or personal what and who you searched on your Facebook page. So, in this guide, you will learn how to clear Facebook search history from the search bar on the PC and Facebook app.

Whether you’re using a desktop version of Facebook on your Mac and PC or using the Facebook app, everything that you’ve have searched on Facebook will appear on the Facebook search bar which is located on the top of the page. So, as I said earlier due to some reason you want to clarify what you’ve searched on Facebook.

For instance, You may want to clear your Facebook search history first if you’re about to hand your phone or computer to your mate, and you don’t want to risk them seeing who you were looking up. However, this can’t be only the reason, there are people like me who want to have a clean interface on their Facebook page.

How to Clear Search History on Facebook

Luckily, whatever the reason is, you can clear your history on Facebook with some taps and clicks on your Android, iOS or PC, and here’s how.

How to Clear Facebook Search History on Facebook App ( Android & iOS)

Step 1. Open the Facebook app on your Android or iPhone.

Step 2. Log in to your account if needed.

Step 3. On your Facebook’s home page, tap the search icon at the top of the screen.

Step 4. Tap EDIT next to Recent Searches.

Step 5. Tap Clear Searches to clear all the search history at once. You can also tap the x icon next to each search item to clear that specific search, and leave the rest.

How to Clear Facebook Search History on a PC or Mac

Method 1: Using Search Bar

Step 1. Open your Facebook account on any browser on PC or Mac.

Step 2. On your Facebook home page, click the search icon at the top left-hand side.

Step 3. Click EDIT.

Step 4. At the top right of the menu, click Clear Searches. You can also click the Edit icon next to each search item to delete that item specifically.

Method 2: Using Activity Log

Step 1. Open your profile page. On your profile page, in the bottom right corner of your cover photo, click Activity Log.

Step 2. Click More under the Comments on the left-hand side.

Step 3. Click Search History.

Step 4. At the top right of the menu, click Clear Searches to delete all the search history at once. You can also click the Edit icon next to each search item to delete that item specifically.

That’s it. This how you can clear Facebook search history on the computer, Android, and iOS devices. After clearing the search history on Facebook, the searches won’t appear on the search bar.
