Apple introduced “Animoji” or Animated Emoji on iPhone X while and Samsung responded back with a similar feature called “AR Emoji” or Augmented Reality Emoji. The AR Emoji allows Samsung users to create their interactive, cartoon-based versions, which they can then animate with the camera of their phones. So, in this guide, you will learn how to create and use AR Emoji on Samsung Galaxy S9, S10, Note 9, Note 10 with Samsung One UI 2.0 (Android 10).

There are some people who love to interact with their family and friends by sending various and different emojis and stickers then why not make your own emojis and stickers and impress them. Luckily, with Samsung’s AR emojis feature, you can easily create stickers on your Galaxy S9, S10, Note 9, Note 10 with Android 10 (One UI 2.0). Though AR Emoji is also available on Android Pie or Samsung One UI but here, I will show you how to create AR Emoji on Android 10 Samsung devices like S9, S10, and others.
What is AR Emoji?
AR Emoji was first introduced on Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ and AR is a shortcut for Augmented Reality. AR (Augmented Reality) Emoji is a feature that creates an animated version of yourself which can then be used to record your movements and facial expressions.
Meanwhile, AR Emoji is available on Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Z Flip, Note10, Note10+, S10e, S10, S10+, Fold, Note9, S9, and S9+.
How to Create AR Emoji on Galaxy S9, S10, Note & Others (Android 10) One UI 2.0
The following screenshots are taken on Samsung Galaxy S9+ with Android 10 or One UI 2.0. So, if you have Galaxy S10, Note 9, Note 10, or S9 and updated to Android 10 then the steps must be the same. Here’s how to create AR Emoji on S9, S10, Note 9, Note 10, and others.
Step 1. Open the Camera app and then tap MORE and from the top of the screen select AR Emoji.

Step 2. Tap Create My Emoji.
Step 3. Take a selfie, Position your face in the center of the circle.

Step 4. Select one of the icons: man, lady, boy or girl and then tap Next and wait for a while and your Emoji will be created.
Step 5. Now customize your AR EMOJI. Here you can customize the following things:
- Name: Give your emoji a name.
- Looks: Here you can customize skin tone, hair, facial hair, face, eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, and ears.
- Clothes: Here you can select your clothes and shoes as well as purchase additional outfits from the Galaxy app store.
- Accessories: Here you can select headwear, glasses, earrings, or purchase additional accessories from the Galaxy app store.
Step 6. After the customization tap Next.
Step 7. To download your AR emoji stickers you will need to download My Emoji Stickers. Simply tap Download and Install. Wait for the installation process.
Step 8. Open My Emoji Stickers app from your home screen. Here, you can view your Emojis.
Step 9. To download the Emoji stickers, simply tap the three dots on the top right-hand corner and select Add stickers to Gallery. Tap All at the top left-hand side then tap Add to Gallery at the bottom of the screen and at last tap Add.
Step 10. Now, all the created AR Emojis are saved to the Gallery app.
How to Use the Created AR Emoji on S10, S9, Note 10 with Messages App
So by now you have created your AR Emoji and wondering how to use them on the Messages App on your Samsung S9 or S10. Here’s how to personalize messages with AR emoji.
Step 1. Open the Messages app.
Step 2. Create a new message and add a recipient.
Step 3. Tap the Stickers icon. Here you’ll see stickers and gifs of your very own emoji.
Step 4. Select your desired emoji, and then tap Send to share with your friends.
