How to Request and Download Instagram Data on Android

Step 1. Open the Instagram app on your Android phone.

Step 2. Go to your profile tab. Tap the hamburger menu and select Your Activity.

Step 3. Tap Download Your Information.

Step 4. Enter the email address where you want your download link sent and click Next.

Step 5. Enter your Instagram account password and click the Request Download button.

From there, Instagram will create a file with all the photos, videos, and stories you’ve shared.

Note: It may take up to 48 hours to receive the link, which will allow you to download all of your photos, videos, profile details, search history, contacts, messages, likes, comments, and other information.

How to View Downloaded Instagram Data

You will receive an email entitled “Your Instagram Information”. Open the email on your PC or phone then tap or click Download Data.

Enter your Instagram account’s username and password then tap or click log in. Now tap or click Download Data.

The file will be downloaded as a zip file. Therefore, you have to extract it. Some files are in JSON-Formatted there you will need to download Json Genie (Editor) from Google Play Store.

While on PC, the files can be viewed by Notepad and there’s no need to download any additional software.
