Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1. Right-click on the Windows 11 taskbar and then select Taskbar Settings.

Step 2. From the bottom, click Taskbar behaviors. Here, uncheck the box next to Show badges (unread messages counter) on taskbar apps.

Step 3. You will no longer see badges on any of the apps on the taskbar once you make the modifications described above.

Alternatively, you can also head to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Now, scroll down to locate, and click on the ‘Taskbar’ tile from the right section of the window.

How to Turn On Notification Badges from the Settings

To turn on this feature, launch the Settings program on your computer by clicking Start > Settings > Taskbar behaviors.

Next, check the box next to the option called Show badges (unread messages counter) on taskbar apps.
