How to Reset Password On Windows 10
Please note that do not misuse this method to reset the password on Windows 10 on any other computer like your friend’s PC or any other PC.
Step 1. On the log-in screen Window, Right-click on the power option then select Restart. Now, what we want here is to load the Preparing Automatic Repair screen and for that, you have to perform 3 to 4 times shut down and start by pressing the Power button until we reach the Preparing Automatic Repair Window.
Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Image Recovery
Step 2. After the Preparing Automatic Repair click on Advanced options.
Step 3. Select Troubleshoot.
Step 4. Then again select Advanced options.
Step 5. Select System Image Recovery.
Step 6. From here on click Cancel > Next > Advanced > Install a driver > OK.
Step 7. Now you’re in System32 Window, if not then go to the drive which you’ve installed the Windows. Mostly it’s installed on the C drive then Windows > System32.
Step 8. In System32, search for sethc then renames the sethc file to like sethc45 then press enter.
Step 9. Now you’ve had to find cmd file and then right-click on cmd then select Copy and then paste it in the same system32 directory.
Step 10. Now, find the copy of cmd file then rename it to sethc then press enter and then right-click select Refresh.
Step 11. Now the close all the Window then click Continue and wait until your PC starts again.
Step 12. In the log-in screen press the Shift key 4 to 5 times to load the Command Prompt option.
Step 13. Now in the Command Prompt Window type control userpasswords2. It must be like this C:Windowssystem32>control userpasswords2 and then press enter.
Step 14. Here you’ll see the Users Account window. Select the user name and then right-click on the Reset Password option.
Step 15. Here you can add a new password or simply leave blank then click OK > OK. Close the Command Prompt windows.
Step 16. In the log-in screen simply click on the Arrow (→) on the right-hand side of the password box and you will be logged in.
