Unpair using Watch App on iPhone
If you have the iPhone your Apple Watch is paired with, then executing the unpairing process is best done through the Watch app on your iPhone. Here’s how it’s done;
Step 1. Make sure that the Watch is close to your iPhone and then open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Step 2. Tap on the My Watch tab and then select your Apple from the top that you want to unpair.
Step 3. On the next page, click the i button next to your Apple Watch’s name.
Step 4. Tap the Unpair Apple Watch.
Step 5. A warning will pop up at the bottom of the screen to double-check that you want to unpair this Apple Watch. Select Unpair (watch name).
Note: If you have cellular service, choose to Keep or Remove your plan. Disable Activation Lock by entering your Apple ID password and pressing Unpair.
Step 6. Wait for the Apple Watch to be unpaired and reset.
When it’s finished, it will unpair the connected Apple Watch from your current iPhone, delete all active Bluetooth accessory pairings, remove any Apple Pay cards used on Apple Watch, and wipe the passcode. Finally, your watch will restore itself to Apple’s factory settings.
Reset Apple Watch without iPhone
If you do not have your iPhone or can’t access to the Apple Watch app on another iPhone. Then you can still reset or unpair the Apple Watch without iPhone with the following method.
Step 1. Press the Digital Crown button to go directly to the home screen.
Step 2. Tap Settings or the gear icon.
Step 3. Select General.
Step 4. Scroll down to the bottom and tap Reset.
Step 5. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
Step 6. Scroll all the way down and select Erase All or Erase All & Keep Plan if you have a cellular watch.
Reset Apple Watch without Passcode
You can also reset your Apple Watch if you don’t remember the passcode.
- Put Apple Watch on its charger.
- Press and hold the side button as if you were going to power it down.
- Do a firm press on the Power Off slider and let go.
- Tap Erase all content and settings.
