We are still far away from the stable version of One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. But the beta version has shown a glimpse of what we can expect from Samsung One UI 6.0. One of the features is to add a custom camera widget to the Samsung Home screen.
Meanwhile, according to the feature explanation, with the Custom camera widgets, people who have a Galaxy phone can put special camera widgets on their Home screen. This means you can make each widget begin in a particular picture-taking mode and save the photos in an album you pick.
Camera Widget
Samsung’s widgets have been really good since One UI 4, and they’ve gotten even better with each update. One UI 6 continues this trend by bringing a new camera widget. Once you put it on your screen, you can pick a picture for the widget or let it automatically use your latest photo. The photos taken using this widget will be saved, along with the camera settings you choose. You can have several of these widgets with different settings to quickly use the right one for the situation.
This widget lets you switch between the selfie camera, the main back camera, and different modes like portrait or slow motion. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t pick which back camera to use.
The fresh widget provides lots of choices, like picking the camera and mode you want, deciding where to keep the photos and videos taken with that widget, and even changing the widget’s background.

How to Add Custom Camera Widget on Samsung One UI 6.0
1. Tap and hold on the Home screen and then select Widgets.
2. Find the Camera widget and then tap Add.
3. Here, you can customize the Title on widget, Starting mode, Save pictures and videos to, and Widget background.
4. Tap on Starting mode and choose Rear or Front camera and then select your favorite mode like Photo, Video, or Portrait.
5. Once, you’re done with customizing, tap Save, and you’ll see a new custom camera widget sitting right on your home screen.
That’s all. These were the steps to create and add a custom camera widget to the Samsung home screen on One UI 6.0 (Android 14). This brand-new widget might be really useful for people who make things or folks who use the camera a lot. It makes it way faster to switch to a certain camera mode and lowers the chances of not catching an important moment. It might come to more Galaxy phones after they get the steady update to Android 14-based One UI 6.0.
