Drives and folders are marked with icons. To make it easier to recognize, each drive is assigned a drive name, denoted with parentheses and a colon like Local Disk (C:). The floppy is typically the A drive, the C drive is the hard disk (also known as the local one) and the DVD is the D drive. If additional drives are included on your PC, your PC will assign them letters in alphabetical order.

Follow the below steps to add This PC or My Computer icon to the desktop in Windows 10. Not only you can add This PC to the desktop but you can also add Recycle Bin, Control Panel, Network, and User’s Files icons as well.
Note: This PC, My Computer, and File Explorer are all the same.
Step 1. Right-click on your desktop and select Personalize.
Step 2. Click Themes from the pane on the left-hand side and select Desktop icon settings under the Related Settings on the right-hand side.
Step 3. Here, you will see Recycle Bin, Control Panel, Network, User’s Files, and Computer. Now, check the box next to Computer, click Apply, and click OK.
However, if you want to add the Recycle Bin, Control Panel, Network, and User’s Files icons to the desktop, just check the boxes next to each of them, click Apply, and OK.
Step 4. Now, you should see This PC icon on your desktop.
Step 5. To rename This PC to My Computer, right-click on the This PC icon and select Rename.
Step 6. Type My Computer and hit enter.
