Do you really want to completely get rid of Samsung Free previously known as Samsung Daily from your home screen on your Galaxy phone? If yes then you’re in the right spot. In this guide, you’ll learn how to disable Samsung Free from the home screen on Samsung Galaxy devices.
Meanwhile, in the Android smartphone UI, there is a Discover feed from Google that can be accessed by sliding left on the home screen. Most smartphone manufacturers, on the other hand, replace Google’s Discover with their own unique UI. One such feed is Samsung Free, which is available through Samsung’s One UI.
While having easy access to the free entertainment and information provided by Samsung Free — formerly known as Samsung Daily — can be convenient, not everyone wants it to take up space on their phone or tablet’s home screen.
What Does “Samsung Free” Mean?
The best way to describe Samsung Free is as a content aggregator. News articles, podcasts, live TV, and even games are included in the content. All of the information is included within four tabs on the home screen’s left-most page.
The first tab, “Watch,” displays the Samsung TV Plus service, which is available for free. This is the company’s live television service, which is available on the company’s smart TVs and mobile devices. It’s a mix of traditional cable TV channels and some exclusive streaming channels.
Podcasts are the focus of the “Listen” tab. It’s divided into a number of categories, each having a list of popular and recommended podcasts. A built-in podcast player is also available on the Listen tab. You may even subscribe to podcasts without having to download an additional app.
You’ll find articles from all around the internet under the “Read” tab. It works in a similar way to Google Discover, but with fewer customization possibilities. You may look at trending stories in a variety of categories.
The final tab is “Play,” which is used to play games. The best part about these games is that they don’t require any installation. You only need the “Game Launcher,” which is already installed on your Galaxy device. You may fast explore games by category and pick one to play to pass the time.
