Well, there are different ways to disable USB ports. You can disable USB ports via Group Policy Editor, Register Editor, or even you can download software to disable USB drives. But the best way to deactivate USB drives is using Device Manager.
However, the process is very easy and straightforward. Follow the below steps to disable USB Ports or Driver completely in Windows 10.
Step 1. Press Windows key + X and then select Device Manager or simply click on the Start Menu button and select Device Manager.
Step 2. Now, from the list find Universal Serial Bus controllers, you can find it at the bottom of the list and then click the arrow button next to it to expand.
Step 3. When it expanded, you will see two Generic USB Hub options. Right-click on Generic USB Hub and then select Disable device.
Step 4. Now, Right-click on the second Generic USB Hub option and select Disable device.
Make sure you disable both the Generic USB Hub options because there are many USB ports on your computer. Disabling one may only disable one or two USB ports but by disabling both will completely disable all available USB ports on your computer.
