The new MacBook Air M2 also has a notch just like the MacBook Pro models. However, if you are not a big fan of the notch, you can always hide the MacBook Air M2 notch.
The most significant makeover of the MacBook Air series since 2010 and the debut of the new M2 processor were included in the updated and revamped MacBook Air that Apple unveiled in June 2022.
The 2022 MacBook Air features a new chassis that does away with the tapered form that the MacBook Air employed for so long, giving it a completely different appearance from the prior-generation model. Instead, like the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air has a flat, homogeneous body.
The MacBook Air weighs 2.7 pounds and is 11.3mm thick, making it somewhat slimmer than the previous iteration. With dimensions of 11.97 inches wide by 8.46 inches high, it is about the same size as the model from the last generation.
The 2022 MacBook Air now has a 13.6-inch display, up from 12.9 inches in the previous model, owing to lower side bezels from Apple. Even though Apple calls the display of the MacBook Air a Liquid Retina display, it resembles the Retina display from the previous version.
The MacBook Air sports a notch, just like the MacBook Pro, to provide access to a 1080p webcam while also allowing for the extra display area. For more info visit here.

How to Hide Notch on MacBook Air M2
For the purpose of this guide recommend you to use TopNotch for macOS. TopNotch is a free program that allows you to hide the notch on your Apple MacBook Air M2 chip. TopNotch was developed by the same group that created the macOS screen capture application Cleanshot, and it supports dynamic desktop wallpapers as well as multiple screens. With this program, you can also give your background rounded corners.
1. Visit here to download the TopNotch app.
2. Once downloaded, install the app and then move it to the Application.
3. Launch the app and click the TopNotch icon at the top. Enable the toggle to the On position.
4. Now, the notch is gone on your MacBook Air M2.
Alternatively, if you have a MacBook Pro, you can also use the Forehead app. The forehead is a clever program made by developer Jordi Bruin that changes your current background by adding a black bar to the top. The tool also adds rounded edges to your Mac’s screen and gives you the choice of changing the corner radius. Although Forehead is offered without charge, you can opt to purchase it from the downloads page to help the creator.
Unfortunately, Forehead does not work on M2 MacBook Air.
That’s all. This is how you can hide the MacBook Air M2 notch with ease. You now have more options for dealing with the notch on the most recent MacBook Air M2 models thanks to the work of third-party developers.
