How to Enable YouTube Picture-in-Picture Mode On Samsung Galaxy
To enable YouTube Picture-in-Picture mode on your Samsung Galaxy phone then your phone must run on Android 8.0 Oreo or later. In two places, YouTube Picture-in-Picture settings can be enabled: Settings and YouTube apps. The picture-in-Picture mode can be disabled unintentionally, although it is enabled by default. All you have to do is start watching a video then press the Home button or simply swipe up from the bottom if you have enabled full-screen gestures. However, there is some news that you can only use YouTube Picture-in-Picture mode with a premium account or this feature is limited to U.S users. But, I don’t have any premium account on YouTube and still, I can view YouTube videos in PiP mode.
Alternative Way to Watch YouTube Videos in Picture-in-Picture Mode on Android Phone on Chrome
If you can’t watch YouTube videos in Picture-in-Picture mode then you can use a mobile browser like Google Chrome instead. Fortunately, Google Chrome supports PiP for all videos. You can play YouTube videos in PIP mode.
Step 1. Open Google Chrome and then go to youtube.com.
Step 2. Find any video that you want to watch.
Step 3. Play a video and tap the full-screen icon to go to the full-screen mode.
Step 4. When the video starts playing in the full-screen mode, tap the Home button or swipe up from the bottom.
Afterward, you begin to play the YouTube video outside your browser, much like the picture-in-image mode. You can watch videos while you open other apps, play games, or scroll through your Twitter timeline.
Once you’ve found out how to launch PiP in your favorite app, you’ll see a window at the bottom right of your screen with your video or other content. Tap the window to look at the controls. Here, you will see Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, and a Maximize\Fullscreen button that brings you back to the app in full screen.
You can drag the window anywhere on the screen, and pull it to the bottom of the screen to dismiss it.
