Meanwhile, we have seen a change in Apple’s attitude toward the personalization of your iPhone and iPad over the last several years. In the meantime, The battery level is once again available in the status bar in iOS 16 beta 5. You’ll notice that the usual battery symbol on your iPhone has the percentage number within when it is not connected to electricity. The % will have a tiny charging icon next to it if you’re charging, as will be evident from this.

For iPhone models prior to the iPhone X, the battery % was a constant feature of the status bar. Apple decreased the percentage once the notch was added and less space was available for the status bar’s information. Instead, to see the percentage, you needed to swipe down into Control Center.

iPhone Limitations for Battery Percentage

You probably also saw that a similar number of iPhone users were not able to access the feature. It turns out that the gadgets that can display battery % on an iPhone have restrictions. A user points out that this is probably because some models have screens with lesser resolutions or because the screen is too tiny.

The following iPhones do not presently support the battery percentage feature:

• iPhone XR
• iPhone 11
• iPhone SE
• iPhone 12 Mini
• iPhone 13 Mini

Here’s how to show the battery percentage on iOS 16:

1. Go to the Settings app.

2. Tap Battery.

Low Power Mode will be switched on automatically when you allow the iPhone to display the battery percentage (%). At first, you could be concerned that this new function would only operate when Low Power Mode was turned on. Thankfully, that’s not the case because turning off Low Power Mode only requires that you hit the toggle.

Apple now chooses to include the battery percentage figure within the battery icon indication, in contrast to earlier implementations of doing so. Additionally, no matter what screen you are using, whether your iPhone is unlocked or not, or whether it is in Low Power Mode or charging, it will stay in that location.
